Who We Are

8 O'Clock (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Stabilize: HRT & Cycle Log mobile application and the website at hrtstabilize.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our app and website.

Our Privacy Commitment

We built Stabilize with a local-first architecture because we believe your health data belongs to you. We do not want access to your symptoms, medications, or personal health information. This policy explains how we uphold that commitment.

Information Collected by the Website

Our website (hrtstabilize.com) is designed to be privacy-respecting:

  • We do not use analytics services or tracking pixels on our website.
  • We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
  • If you contact us via email at help@8oclock.co, we will have access to your email address and the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.

Information Collected by the App

The Stabilize app collects and stores the following types of information locally on your device:

  • HRT Regimen Information: Medications you're taking (name, brand, route of administration), dosages, schedules, and start/end dates.
  • Symptom Logs: Daily entries about symptoms you're experiencing, including severity ratings and timestamps.
  • Notes: Any free-text notes you add to your entries.
  • Optional Identification: If you choose, you can add your name or your clinician's name to appear on exported reports. This is entirely optional.

Important: All of this information is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your health data. We cannot see your symptoms, medications, or logs.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in the app's local storage on your device. It does not leave your device unless you explicitly export it.

Regarding iCloud Backup: If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your device backup may include Stabilize app data. This is controlled by Apple's backup system and your personal iCloud settings. Apple's handling of iCloud backups is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is outside our direct control. If you prefer to exclude Stabilize from iCloud Backup, you can adjust your device's backup settings.

When Data Leaves Your Device

Your data only leaves your device when you choose to export it:

  • PDF Export: You can generate a PDF summary of your data for a selected date range. When you share this PDF, it goes through Apple's standard share sheet—you choose the destination (email, Messages, AirDrop, print, etc.).
  • We Do Not Intercept Exports: When you export data, it goes directly from your device to whatever destination you choose. We do not receive a copy, and we cannot see what you've exported or to whom.

Payments and Subscriptions

Subscriptions to Stabilize are processed entirely through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system:

  • We do not collect or store your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details.
  • Apple handles all payment processing and provides us only with confirmation that a subscription is active.
  • For questions about payments, refunds, or billing, please contact Apple Support directly through your App Store account.

Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally on your device and we do not have access to it, you have direct control over your information:

  • Access: Your data is on your device; you can view it anytime in the app.
  • Correction: You can edit any entry in the app.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual entries or all your data from within the app. Uninstalling the app will also remove all locally stored data.
  • Portability: You can export your data as a PDF at any time.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws: because we do not collect or process your personal health data on our systems, the typical data subject rights (such as requests for access or deletion from our servers) do not apply in the usual sense—there is simply no data on our servers to access or delete.

Children's Privacy

Stabilize is designed for adults managing hormone therapy during perimenopause and menopause. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us at help@8oclock.co.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
